Martina Vídenová

Martina Vídenová is a film music composer and musicologist. She is currently studying a doctoral degree in Music Science at the Faculty of Arts, University of Applied Sciences in Prague. Her songwriting is based on classical music, primarily minimalism, which she often combines with electronics and ambient. In recent years, his work focuses mainly on environmental topics, he has long collaborated with audiovisual artist and activist Vladimir Turner. She is the author of the international project Home Is the Place Where Fire Burns, which deals with the issue of large-scale forest fires in Portugal (highlighting the fact that the climate crisis is not always the main cause of the high number of such fires). As part of the project, she composed the composition Requiem for Portuguese Forests. For example, the writer David Zábranský and musicians working in the Casa da Música concert house in Porto collaborated on the project. With composer Miroslav Tóth she organized a benefit concert The year after, featuring her composition In perpetuum dedicated to the victims of tragic events, which took place in December 2023 at the Faculty of Arts and in Klánovice. The concert was broadcast live by Czech Television and Czech Radio Vltava. At the same time, Martina is president of the association Ears for the Soul, which aims to promote children's mental health through culture.
