FLOEX, whose own name is Tomáš Dvořák, clarinetist, composer, producer and multimedia artist, combines electronic and acoustic music into a unique atmospheric form. In addition to composing music, he likes to experiment beyond linear musical scenarios, creating interactive multimedia projects or music for games. Floex's first albums Pocustone (2001), Zorya (2011) and EP Gone (2013) won several prestigious awards not only in the Czech Republic (3 Andel Awards, nominations for the European Qwartz Awards, nominations for Apollo and Vinyla Awards). The collaboration with Tom Hodge, represented by the record A Portrait Of John Doe (2018), has become a unique feat in which classical music and avant-garde electronics blend into a unique organic universe. The album was released by the prestigious British label Mercury KX (Decca Classics) and was awarded Angel in the Alternative Music category. Tomáš Dořák is also the author of soundtracks for the games of the studio Amanita Design - Samorost II and III, Pilgrims and the iconic Machinarium, with which he became internationally known. His latest works include the soundtracks for the video game Papetura (Petums), the full-length political thriller Je Suis Karl and the video game Shoulders of Giants (Moving Pieces Interactive). He currently performs mostly with his Floex Ensemble, a chamber sextet of top musicians whose repertoire includes classical-modern arrangements of soundtracks from Floex's workshop.
