Chalupski

Václav Chalupský, aka Chalupski, is a composer and producer. In addition to his own solo work, he creates music for contemporary dance performances (e.g., Uncovered by Tereza Krejčová, The End’s Turnabout by Michal Záhora, or the award-winning production display by Tereza Lenerová and Jitka Čechová). He has also worked on the soundtrack for Lukáš Valíšek's short film auto.au.rum and the film Příběh Tomáše Bubáka, and composed music for an educational app by the developers SkillAdicts as well as for commercial spots. His discography includes two albums, Vortex (2019) and Improvisation for Dance (2022), followed by the piano EP Man of Gaeta in 2024. With his composition "Elia," he contributed to the compilation Moderna, which, under the Czech Radio Vltava label, summarizes the landscape of contemporary classical music as performed by selected Czech composers. He previously played with Kalle or teepee, and currently performs in the band of the pop duo Emma Smetana and Jordan Haj.
